Briefly about the State Forests
The total forest area managed by the State Forests – as of 1 January 2024 - is 7,144.1 thousand hectares, the amount of standing volume is 1,926 mln m3 calculated for the average age of stands at about 64 years. The average volume of growing stock in the total forest area is 275 m3/ha.
Average volume in the State Forests as of 1 January 2024 was higher by about 4% compared to the average volume in 2014 and by about 23% compared to the average volume in the State Forests in 2004 and higher by 42% compared to the average volume in the State Forests in 1994.
